Delivery time depends on several factors, including the type of item requested and its origin:

  1. Physical Items: Books and audio/visual materials from another Kentucky library may arrive by courier service, which currently delivers on Tuesdays. Courier service can be delayed due to weather conditions and holiday closings. Items from libraries outside Kentucky are usually delivered by mail, which can take up to two weeks or more.

  2. Electronic Items: Journal articles available as PDFs may be delivered electronically, often resulting in faster delivery.

  3. Processing Time: The speed of delivery also depends on the other library fulfilling our request. Our interlibrary loan manager processes each request immediately upon receipt to provide resources as quickly as possible.

It is important to start the research process early to account for any unforeseen delays.
