There are three online library resources for literary criticism, Gale, Literary Reference Center Plus and Salem Literature.

  • Select Databases under Resources on the Library Navigation Bar.
  • Select Gale to search literature titles in the Gale Virtual Reference Library, such as Twayne Author Series and Scribner's Writers series. The Twayne Author Series covers past and present English, American and World authors.
  • Select Literary Reference Center Plus to search a comprehensive database that combines information from over 1,000 books and monographs, major literary encyclopedias and reference works, hundreds of literary journals and unique sources.
  • Select Salem Literature to view the full text of Magill's Critical Surveys of Long Fiction, American Poets, British, Irish & Commonwealth Poets, European Poets, World Poets, Short Fiction including American Writers, British, Irish & Commonwealth Writers, European Writers, World Writers and Topical Essays.

There are also many print reference works that lead to literary criticism articles and book chapters.  Search the library catalog by author name and with criticism.  For example, frost, robert AND criticism. And please feel free to ask for help in finding the resources you need!
